LET’S BE FWENDS ISSUE #98:
DO YOU HAVE YOUR PRIORITIES STRAIGHT?
“I’ve been on a calendar, but never on time.”
~ Marilyn Monroe
Continuing from last issues meeting dysfunctions, today we look at how we spend our time - when we’re not in a meeting, that is. Then, there’s time for reflecting on creation and decay, checking in on who’s good at what, and finally another Covid-inspired link, as if you’ve waited for another piece of content on Covid-19.
How do You Spend Your Time?

John Cutler asks the very important question: How do you actually spend your time? There are so many gems in this newsletter (subscription highly recommended, not just for product people), that it’s hard to pick one.
Maybe it’s slack. For me, this always is the biggest issue. People underestimate how much slack you actually need in a week, being it because transitions are not frictionless and therefore need time, or because you discover something that would be absolutely worthwhile doing. And if you haven’t allowed for any slack, it just ends up on the pile of Todos. What a shame.
And sometimes, slack is just that: Free time. Go outside. Feel the sun on your face. Have a coup of tea. Relax. Just a bit.
A full calendar makes this impossible.
Decay and Growth

Although everything gets better in Slow-Mo, some things also get vastly more interesting in time-lapse. Both the creation of life and the decay of organic matter take time, so watch a gigantic pumpkin grow from a tiny seedand an apple meeting its maker.
And, as a bonus, watch a chicken leg completely disappear in acid. No time-lapse needed for that.
Every Country is Good at Something

In the very first issue of this humble journal there was a link to a list of things every country was good at.I included it a bit tongue-in-cheek, because what the countries apparently were good at was a bit strange.
Huzzas for the inventors of the postcard!
Immunity (to Logic)

With Omicron taking center-stage,this became eerily relevant again.
That’s it for this edition of Let’s Be Fwends, it cannot be stated often enough: You’re a rock star! 🤩
